NEWT Lab, (Neighborhood for "Emerging-World" Technologist) is the leading research lab of the region. This lab was founded by a Research Scientist from MIT and four fresh graduates from FAST-NU, Lahore Campus in 2005 as a part of the Dritte Initiative (www.dritte.org). In a short time our projects have been mentioned by CNN, New York Times, GigaOm, MIT Technology Review and New Scientist.

Our alumni have been accepted to good institutions like CMU, Purdue, Rutgers, Cambridge, UCL (London), Max Plank; to top research divisions like Amazon, Google and Microsoft Research, to companies like Microsoft and EA games or have started companies like See N Report and Chopaal.
